Fine Craftsmanship Club, 24 June, 16 and 29 July. Hotel Excelsior Venice Lido Resort and Venezia da Vivere present three evenings dedicated to Venetian fashion, design and craftsmanship.
On 24 June, 16 July and 29 July 2021 Hotel Excelsior Venice Lido Resort and Venezia da Vivere are organising three evenings of gala, conferences and fashion shows – 3 live events also broadcasted via digital media- created to present the excellence of Venetian craftsmanship combining contemporary design and fashion Made in Venice. The events are part of the Venice Fashion Week Summer programme.
Alessio Lazazzera, general manager of Hotel Excelsior, has chosen to focus on the value of fine Venetian craftsmanship to create a programme of events that present the hotel’s new direction, and to do so, he has chosen Venezia da Vivere. Laura Scarpa, Lorenzo Cinotti and Jacopo Casotto are committed to ensuring that Venice is recognised worldwide as a city of high level craftsmanship and creativity – productive, sustainable and contemporary.
The Hotel Excelsior is the place to be for the summer of 2021: a period palazzo that features exotic Moorish architecture, where contemporary luxury blends with the splendour of history.
The eighteen brands narrate tales of talent, creativity and Venetian craftsmanship: precious fabrics, hand-painted silks, unique creations – a combination of tailoring and design. The three events will be inaugurated with a conference on the future of Venetian craftsmanship hosted by Stefano Micelli, Lorenzo Cinotti and Laura Scarpa, and will be enriched by an exhibition of the brands’ creations, starting from historical names and ending with the young generation, in the iconic windows of the hotel. The exhibition is open to the public from June to October 2021.
The events take place in the spectacular Sala degli Stucchi where one of the most important scenes of the film Once Upon a Time in America was set, featuring Robert De Niro and Elizabeth McGovern. A theatre for the splendours of the Belle Époque, the Hotel Excelsior hosted the launch of the first Venice Film Festival in 1932 on its terrace and continues to host the international event, interviews and meetings with actors and directors within its spaces: Terrace by the Sea, the swimming pool and the Blue Bar.

During the pandemic, in the month of March 2020, Venezia da Vivere launched the project #RiscrivereilFuturo, an open debate with citizens, scholars and entrepreneurs that aimed to re-imagine the future of Venice. In 2021, the project is still ongoing with the creatives of Venice as its main protagonists.
On 24 June, in a conference hosted by Stefano Micelli, Lorenzo Cinotti and Laura Scarpa, the Alto Artigianato Venezia network will present itself to the public to explain how these companies have used the period of the pandemic to innovate and create. A useful investigation for all the productive realities that today find themselves operating in a new scenario.
The evening will also be an opportunity to discover the latest creations, see the craftsmen at work and the ancient traditions that have contributed to the history of craftsmanship in the city:
Tessitura Luigi Bevilacqua, with over five centuries of history, creates precious fabrics with looms from the 18th and 19th centuries that are coveted by the international world of fashion, design and culture;
